Classrooms
A day at High Five Daycare starts with open-ended play in various exploratory centers as children are welcomed to their classroom and helped to unpack. Children work to gain independence as teachers encourage them to go through the arrival routine independently as much as is age appropriate. After arrival, children move into a community breakfast, eating and talking together to start their morning. Next is circle time, where children greet their peers, practice early literacy and math skills, and move their bodies to music and songs. Children continue to move through their day in centers or outdoor play, lunch, rest time, snack time, afternoon circle, afternoon centers, or a neighborhood walk and dismissal. We seek to provide children with the intentionally planned playtime they need to learn and grow.
